With its cobblestone streets and Cast Iron architecture, the SoHo/NoLita neighborhood is worth a full day’s visit. Yes, like much of NY, its becoming “mallified” – big name brands pushing out indie stores- but there is still plenty of interesting shopping and far more. Our recommendation (including our own “plug”:)
New Museum of Contemporary Art (great architecture in NYC)
1)11am: Pay a visit to THE NEW MUSEUM, for contemporary art in a stunning physical structure.
2)Noon: Lunch at DELICATESSAN www.delicatessennyc.com (not a deli!) for delicious comfort food options as well as great light fare on the best corner for people watching, inside and out.
3)1:30pm: Join us for a SoHo and NoLita Chic Boutiques Shopping Tour so that we can Bring you to those Indie shops worth knowing about
4)4:00pm: Visit MOCA: www.mocanyc.org (museum of Chinese in America) and learn the story of this important immigrant group in a building designed by the famed Maya Lin (also designed the Vietnam Memorial in DC)
