Good news! Winter is almost over which means the Shop Gotham Soho Nolita Shopping Tours will begin again! Starting March 6th, our explorative downtown shopping tours commence each week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Looking for an activity to do with mom and teens in NYC or groups of women in NYC? This tour is the fun and easy solution!
Here is a small sneak peak into a few new stores in the area that have opened up this winter:
Classic basics, Men’s and women’s clothes with a Gap/Joe fresh feel. The best part? The sale section in the back of the store
H&M sister brand opened their first US location this October in Soho. European style merchandise: apparel between $50-100, accessories ($10-50), bath/home products and features a HUGE shoe bar in the back of the store.
Small gem stone/mixed metals shop that opened up in January. The store originated in Park Slope and still have store there, but this is first NYC location. The sell a variety of men’s and women’s jewelry/gifts: “finer” jewelry (bridal collection) towards the back, less expensive bracelets, charms, keychains, temp tattoos, rings and gifts towards the front.
Very friendly, welcoming and educating staff. They are ecstatic to tell you a story for each stone-regarding it’s origin or it’s historical uses. Turf floor, books with gemstone info are scattered about and the shop girls hand out cards that describe each stone you are interested in. Floor to ceiling hand made gem stone jewelry-most pieces raining between $150-250 but there are some less expensive pieces/small gifts.

A recent, glowing review on our Garment Center Shopping Tour with a personal recognition for one of our guides, Jacque.
“Fun and fashionable!”

Loved this trip: one of the highlights of a week n NYC. Jacque was a bubbly tour guide and knew the showrooms well. It was interesting and informative to see the designer’s rooms and learn a little about the process. Our first stop was the best: what woman doesn’t want a beautiful bag at well under the wholesale cost? Great deals, met some lovely ladies…had a fun time!

For Broadway and Film, costumes are integral to the story line and overall excitement of the production. Where does the process begin? What elements are needed? Could a detailed pocket really matter? Shop Gotham has put together a unique “behind the curtain” NYC theater experience, exploring the Steps of Creation in Broadway & Theater Costume Design!
This program showcases the wardrobing process, taking guests both behind- the-scenes to a renowned design studio and to private industry-only shops for an enlightening costume and production overview that can only be found in NYC. Step into this world non-thespians rarely enter.
Tour includes visits to a Costume Design Studio, a Theater & Costume Jewelry Showroom, a Theatrical Stage and Dance Shoe Supplier as well as visits and discussions of other integral hubs of the New York Broadway and Theater Community. We invite students and adult groups both to explore this program, for more information please email us: firstname.lastname@example.org or call us: (917) 599-6650
