September in NYC is pretty spectacular. Blue skies, warm temps, stores feel fresh and alive with their fall offerings, and the natives are back in town. Here is a suggestion for a lovely day in Midtown.
1. Commence your morning with a Shop Gotham Garment Center “insider” Tour, at 10am. Always wanted to shop wholesale and designer sample sales, see what the inside of a showroom looks like or find out what all the fuss is about the Garment Center? This is your opportunity to do so with the leading company in New York. Deals, designers, shopping, small tour groups. Sound good?
2)At 1pm, stroll to Fifth and grab lunch at either the: charming casual cafe at the new Andaz Hotel on 41st and Fifth or if you qwant something a bit more upscale to celebrate your new purchases, book at res. at Bryant Park Cafe, situated on the north end of the park, behind the NYC Public Library.
3)Stroll one block or cross the street to the New York Public library and take in the exhibition Celebrating 100 Years. “This major exhibition of more than 250 thought-provoking items from NYPL’s vast collections celebrates how the Library has encouraged millions of individuals to gain access to a universe of information during the past 100 years. Examples are the first Gutenberg Bible acquired in the Americas ,dance cards, dime novels, and John Coltrane’s handwritten score of Lover Man”
4)Go to hotel and nap. You have earned it
